IMMORALITY IN OUR SOCIETY

Immorality is becoming
part of our personality,
culture and norms
in our society.

Illegitimate habits becomes
a thing of fame,
displayed as an emblem
without shame.

Our society no longer
cares about integrity.
With no regards
to humanity's sanctity.

Immorality is been celebrated,
when victims are not prosecuted.
While indecency is tolerated,
modesty is known to be outdated.

Beauty is now a
measure of nudity.
Even religious homes are
filled with immorality.

The youths are no
longer dreaming "innocentee".
They now force their
dreams into reality.

How much more
can I describe our societies,
a world of countless
conundrum entities.

Father no longer
own his son.
For the street now
fathers his actions.

What a world of pitiful scenes
Death is now buyable by the teens.

It's indeed now a chaotic world.
All I can ask for is mercy from God.

SALEWA

By Jonathan Oladeji I don’t know how many people have met Salewa before, even if it is not the Salewa I am talking about. What can you say is common about every Salewa? It’s usually their room mates that can testify better. I met Salewa in my 200 level and she told me her name was Sally. I stared at her for hours before managing to pick a seat behind her in the then AUD 2 on the Great Ife campus. Salewa is the typical tall, slim, dark and beautiful (TSDB) girl. I approached with all caution because I wanted to make a good impression. Even though I am not much of a fashionista, I could see her wrist bracelet, earrings and neck-piece were a complete set out of an A-Class boutique. Salewa was not the bend-down select kind of girl.
