NIGERIA

By Ola Vincent Omotade

It's just a season it will pass away,
Darkness will give way to light some days,
We know the feeling but we can not say,
We can all live in peace adorned.

We will give it all it wants,
We will give it all it takes,
We will give it all our hearts,
We will just say our prayers,

Bright is the day that follows the night,
Though we are seeing the little sun hidden,
Lost under d sky.

We've been in the valley,
The valley of death,
We were worried but fathers said it's okay.
So now we're acting on the father's word.

Now I know where majesty is taken us to. Brothers, sister's  and indeed everyone,
These are thoughts from the wise,
Never look back rather keep running.

FEBRUARY 27

By Ola Vincent Omotade Aderonke will be my only poem that never ends, For a good woman is but a poem. A genuine poem that comes in blue moon. You are a jewel of purest gold, The smile that never grows old. You are the beauty of the sunset sky, The intricate twinkle of a happy star. You are the keeper of an unborn life, A champion, heroine, a candlelight . You are a budding shoot, evergreen, a colourful sweetness. Your laughter is like the whirlwind of the spirit, it  keeps resounding in the valleys and hills of life and motions. Encircling the hearts of men with magical notions. So now the night of January is past and the day of February is broken Today speaks of this calmness, this brightness, the one you brought. Today carries  messages of heavy words, Words that are pregnant with beauty for you. And with my golden mouth and pen, I wish to celebrate your existence. What joy of a fuller and freer life, have I got if onl...

TOUGH TIMES

By Ola Vincent Omotade (True-life story) I am here to speak of God's faithfulness  And I hope that in hearing this, you get blessed  When it started, I couldn't tell where I was How long I have or when I got there All I knew was pain, I felt an enormous pain all over my body but for my feet. I noticed my plastered face, a connected drip and several bandages. A polite nurse noticed me and called out to a doctor. At his arrival, the young doctor said to me _"You're at the ABU ZARIA TEACHING HOSPITAL,_ _And its because you had an accident,_ _You've been unconscious for sometime,_ _Pls take care to rest"_ I tried to question him but couldn't find the right words to do so Eventually I stopped trying to do so But when I laid back, I was in tears When he came back later that day,  He explained how my accident was fatal, The surgery I had to undergo And the possibility of me being on that bed for y...

MAY 26

Dedicated to Olorunshola Victoria  May-26-2018 Beauty that can't age; the consistency of an adage. I'm addicted to your name; apparently love is to blame. My candid comfort; a pillar no one can abort. The blood in my veins; without you, life is in vain. The sweetness of honey; you're worth more than money. My definite sunrise... there's always hope in your eyes. The sweetness in a sensation; you've given life a direction. If the sky refuses to be blue; still it will forever be light for you. Happy Birthday to you..
